Acclaimed and award-winning director Charles Officer's first feature film was released in theatres last Friday (Feb 6th) to coincide with Black History Month.
The film follows the fates of it's three central characters "the soul of a mother, the heart of a fighter and the faith of a child". The mother is a nurse, the fighter is a boxer and the boy is the nurses son. The three characters lives become entwined after a boxing match that leaves the fighter in the care of the nurse. The son plays a roll in this happenstance by practicing magic in the hopes of bringing the three of their lives together.
The film is an urban love story which uncovers the hidden parts of Toronto that Officer hoped to showcase.
