We Caught up with the Band, Ten Second Epic, during Canadian Music Week back in March. Val sat down with Pat, Andrew and Craig to chat about their new album Hometown, their working relationship with Lights, and some crazy experiences while on tour.

At the age of 21, Lights is Toronto's own little sweetheart with tons of talent to share and a big voice. I happened to attend her latest show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre last month, and although a short set (45 min), she managed to captivate the seemingly young mixed crowed with her bubbly on stage personality and catchy, playful jams (available on her first EP in stores now).
Her videos for "Drive My Soul" and "February Air" air on MuchMusic and air on many radio stations for your listening pleasure. A couple of her tunes have made their way into Old Navy commercials where she gained international notice. She also appears on Canada's own Ten Second Epic's album Hometown.
Lights, aka Valerie Poxleitner, is currently working on her full length debut, and from the sounds of it, the album will be one to watch out for. Check out her official mySpace or her official website for vblogs from Lights herself, merch, and videos.
Lights will be playing the Vans Warped Tour when it hits Toronto July 10, 2009, along with other great talent! more Enjoy the LIGHTS! Jay Sever
SLICE blog was created to display and promote primarily Canadian artists, as well as to encourage discourse among the arts and culture community. We hope to foster and spark interest in the Canadian arts scene and we would like to use this as a platform for Canadian artists to gain attention for their work and thrive within Canada and hopefully beyond our borders. Fashion/textile, visual/fine arts, musicians, writers/poets, video/photo, general arts and culture will all be discussed on SLICE.
Noteworthy International artists will also be featured on the website and blog. Anyone can submit their work to be featured on SLICE, so please feel free to email us.
